Terms and Conditions

1. You must be of legal age to drive and produce a valid UK/Northern Ireland provisional Category B driving licence. If a photo card licence is held, it must be produced. If an older paper licence is held, then you must also produce a valid passport as photographic identification.

For Motorway, Pass Plus or Refresher lessons a full valid licence must be produced with identification as above.
You must meet the minimum eye test requirements, which means you must be able to read a standard UK approved number plate at a minimum distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet). If you need to wear glasses or contact lenses in order to meet this requirement then you must wear them whenever you drive.



2. You must notify your instructor of any change of your ability or entitlement to have driving tuition, for example if your provisional licence has been revoked or for medical reasons such as epilepsy.

3. If you wish to cancel a lesson, a minimum of 24 hours notice must be given. Failure to give 24 hours notice will the result in the lesson(s) having to be paid for. Lessons can be cancelled by telephone or text message but must be acknowledged by your instructor.

4. If your instructor turns up on time at the pre-arranged pick up point and you do not show your instructor will wait 15 minutes if there is no contact made between you. After 15 minutes they will leave and you will have to pay for the lesson.

5. Your instructor will endeavour to arrive on time however, due to unforeseen circumstances such as breakdown, accidents, traffic hold ups etc, lesson times may need to change or even be cancelled. If cancelled by your Instructor, paid monies will transfer to the next lesson.

6. Lessons must be paid for in advance of the time of the lesson (you get a reminder of lessons 2 days before via text) this includes test day payable in advance of the test day, failure to do so could mean the instructor not turning up for your lesson or the car not being available for test, they can be paid by the Total Drive App via bank card.

7. You must not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol during the training. In the event of there being any signs of drugs/alcohol misuse, your instructor will withhold the use of the training vehicle for use of tuition or driving test until you are in a legal and fit state to drive. Any prescribed medication that may effect your driving should be declared to the instructor and to the DVLA medical board.

8. Should you fail to reach a satisfactory standard of driving and are likely to be a danger to other road users, or are in an unfit condition through substance or alcohol abuse as described above, the ADI has a responsibility to the DVSA examiners not to allow the use of the training vehicle for the purpose of the driving test. This is in the interest of the pupil, the examiner and other road users and is a precautionary safety measure. Driving Standards Agency guidelines do not allow for a pupil to take a practical test just for the experience.

9. No responsibility can be taken for tests cancelled by the DVSA for whatever reason. Lessons will have to be paid for but can be claimed back from the DVSA via the DVSA website www.gov.uk . The instructor cannot be responsible if you fail because of the eyesight test. Your instructor will be responsible if the test is cancelled due to the condition of the tuition vehicle.

COVID-19 Update

TERMS & CONDITIONS (EXTENDED) - SAFETY PROTOCOLS DURING COVID-19

  • Covid-19 is a new deadly virus to humans. We must all do what we can to minimise transmission from human to human.
  • As a professional and regulated driving school I have the responsibility to keep my customers safe, I constantly get updates and advice on how to minimise risk in a confined space such as a training vehicle for learners.
  • Driver training is an important sector of our economy. The work we do is so diverse for so many people who need it for social and professional reasons. I endeavour to keep providing these important services to my customers in a safe and

TRAINING POST LOCKDOWN

Before a training lesson:

  • I will keep in touch with you regarding your wellbeing. I will message you 24 hours before your lesson to make sure you are well and not experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms.
  • To avoid unnecessary travelling, you MUST let me know prior to the lesson if you experience any Covid-19 symptoms, have been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 symptoms, or have recently travelled from high risk areas.
  • I will be taking your temperature from a distance before you enter the car
  • I will not be conducting any lessons if either myself or the you experience any Covid-19 symptoms, and if such situations arises, the training lesson will NOT go ahead, the lesson will not be chargeable and government guidelines MUST be followed by myself or the pupil to maintain everyone’s safety and wellbeing.

To maintain a safe training environment, I (Andy White) will:

  •  Deep clean the inside of the training vehicle using disinfectant at least once a week.
  • Clean all surfaces that might be shared, with sanitiser before and after each lesson.
  • Dispose of any clothes or paper towels that have been used into a plastic bin bag.
  • Ensure that the pupil or their cohabitants, do not have any symptoms of COVID-19, prior to each lesson.
  • Wash my hand before and after every training session using soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This also applies whenever I or pupil blows their nose, sneezes, eats or handles food. If hand washing is not practicable a hand sanitiser will be used.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Minimise any contact with a pupil, including training aids.
  • Meet pupil by the vehicle.
  • Keep the vehicle ventilated – all windows must be open including the back if possible.
  • Not have anyone else in the car.
  • At the request of the pupil use a facemask.
  • Not share food and drink with others.
  • Keep up to date with government and industry regulations and guidelines.

To maintain a safe training environment the Pupil will:

  •  Ensure that they or their cohabitants, do not have any symptoms of COVID-19
  • Ensure that they are complying with local government guidelines
  • Ensure that they will: Wash their hands before entering the training vehicle.
  •  Meet by the training vehicle once a text message has been received to confirm the vehicle is ready for their lesson.
  • Wear suitable clean clothing, a face mask or covering that will minimise the spread of infection.
  • Refrain from bringing unnecessary items to your training lesson eg; coats, bags, phones keys etc….
